Wireless Network Acceptable Use Policy [Updated 2025]
Introduction
This document details the requirements for acceptable use of the Rowsley Village Hall wireless network by any hall user who accesses this facility.
Scope
This policy applies to all users of the Rowsley Village Hall (RVH) wireless network.
It does not preclude terms and conditions of any other user or site’s acceptable use policies which may also apply to their internal IT systems and networks.
No charge is levied for Wireless Network (Wifi) provision to community users.
If the network is required for an IT intensive purpose (such as training or web cast provision) you are required to first contact Rowsley Village Hall Management Committee.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for acceptable use of the RVH wireless network and to outline procedures to enable this. Its purpose is to help protect the network from unintentional or intentional malicious damage, and safeguard the integrity and reputation of the Village Hall.
Current Hirer
The RVH Wifi is provided only for use during the session for which the hall has been hired and is available only to those hiring or using the village hall (whether hirer, their family and guests, class instructor, or clients).
Acceptable Use
The wireless network must be used in a reasonable manner and in such a way that does not affect its efficient operation, nor restrict or damage the work of other users.
In particular users must take all reasonable steps to avoid any activity that affects the accessibility, legality, security or viability of the RVH wireless network. It is the user’s responsibility to abide by the terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.

- Other misuse of networked resources, such as the introduction of viruses or other harmful software
At all times users are expected to use the RVH wireless facility in a manner that is acceptable to others, in keeping with the above requirements and standards.
Failure to Comply
Users of the wireless network who do not comply with the guidelines in this policy and are found to be contravening the above definitions of Acceptable Use will be denied access to the wireless facility.
Failure to comply with these guidelines or wilful misuse of the wireless network may result in legal action.
Authorised Users
Authorised use is limited to the duration of the village hall booking.
The RVH Wifi is available only to those hiring or using the village hall – whether hirer; their family and guests; the class instructor; or their clients.
Getting Help
The wireless network is provided as a convenience for hall users, and does not constitute a promise of service provision.
The village hall committee is a volunteer organization and regrettably cannot
provide technical assistance.
Please contact the Rowsley Village Hall Management Committee if you have any issues with use of the RVH wifi.
Agreement
By signing a hall hire agreement (regular or one off bookings), all users that access the RVH wifi are taken to have understood and accepted the terms and conditions outlined in the Rowsley Village Hall Acceptable Use Policy.
All users that access the RVH wifi have, through accessing the service, agreed to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined above.
