T’ai Chi for Life – Put a spring in your step
T’ai Chi is a form of gentle, physical exercise, which can also lead to a healthier way of life. What better way to begin 2026. A new T’ai Chi class is starting in Rowsley on 7 January, 2-3pm, in the Village Hall. Thereafter, every Wednesday afternoon.
All are welcome so come along and give it a go.
T’ai Chi doesn’t require any special equipment; just wear loose, comfortable clothes and shoes. Slow, gradual movements will gently exercise all your muscles, and develop balance, strength, and flexibility.
The exercises also help maintain good mental health and combine well with mindfulness activities. The movements are suitable for men and women of all ages and levels of fitness, and it is a recommended form of exercise for older people to help them with balance and self confidence.
Margaret Wood, who leads the classes, is a fully qualified T’ai Chi instructor and already runs several classes in the Hope Valley area. Classes cost £6 per session.
